How To Wear Leather Pants

How To Wear Leather Pants

Leather pants have become a wardrobe staple worn as freely as a pair of dark denim. They are no longer limited to the skinny, cropped variations of previous seasons either, but come in all sorts of variations now (even as sweatpants)!

If you want to stick to leather skinnies, do me a favor and make sure to buy the right size. Never buy leather pants a size too small hoping they will impress your date with their tightness or motivate you to get slimmer. It doesn’t work.

A very good idea, on the other hand, is to wear something more demure on the upper half. If you go too sexy and figure-hugging on the top, you are risking losing the chic and will end up looking cheap.

Layering is another great way to dress leather down: a chunky knit sweater or a flowy shirt topped off with a simple blazer. Add a pair of sleek ankle boots and understated accessories, and you’ll have a winning combination that is polished, yet super trendy.

How To Wear Metallics Without Looking Like A Robot

How To Wear Metallics

The key styling rule is to keep things simple. When wearing something metallic, let this item be the star of your outfit. You might also want to keep the following tips in mind:

1. Don’t go overboard with jewellery and opt for a plain bag.

2. Choose neutral metallics: shimmery creams, sparkly greys, shimmery bronzes and golds. These colours are eye-catching, yet elegant.

3. Don’t wear anything very short or low-cut – unless it’s Halloween and your theme is “star of a futuristic movie”.

4. Instead, pay attention to a good cut that suits your body shape. Metallics can be very unforgiving. In case of doubt, don’t buy.

I hope you have realized by now that metallics is a pretty awesome trend. Sure, they are not for the weak of heart. But at least no one would ever accuse you of being boring, and that’s the best reason to try it, right?

How To Wear Floral Print Pants All Year Long

How To Wear Floral Print Pants All Year Long

Transitioning from summer to fall is quite easy in general. The cold season is all about layering, feel free to layer up tops, sweaters, jackets, scarves etc to keep yourself warm. The styling rule here is: Floral pants should always remain the visual highlight of your outfit.

It really doesn’t tolerate much competition from another pattern. So combine it always with classic unicolored items, just to be on the safe side. You can go with neutrals, or any other colour that is reflected in the pattern itself, to create a harmonious look.

Another good idea is to keep the separates in the same textile family. Drapey fabrics are very much suitable to wear with your summer items. A floaty jacket or a warm scarf are also versatile options that are easy to put on and off.

Last but not least (for the fun fearless females!): Why not cover yourself head to toe in flowers, like Holland Rodem and Bailee Madison?

Ok, this look is quite “out there” and you have to know that people WILL look at you. But on the other hand, if you keep the rest of your outfit very sleek and understated, those initial looks will quickly turn into admiration.

Oh hello, autumn!

Breaking Fashion Rules: How To Wear Black and Blue

How To Wear Black and Blue

The key to mixing black and blue is to ensure that it appears as an intentional style decision. You don’t want people to think that you just confused the two colours, so make sure the colors are distinguishable from each other. Also keep the fabrics in similar families, i.e. combine lace with lace, wool with wool, jersey with jersey, etc.

And lastly, wearly this colour combination only if the color characteristics of your hair, skind and eyes are pre-dominantly cool. If they are not, I would advice you to get hooked on another trend. This color combination will do nothing more for you than taking away all vibrance in your appereance (and nobdy wants that, right?).

For those of you willing to dive into this trend, I arranged a 3 Ways To Wear Black and Blue outfits you may want to get inspired from.
