From The Runway: Trend Colour Acai Purple

Hi everyone!

I am extremely excited to welcome you to a brand new theme of 3 Ways To Wear: Runway Inspirations.

This section is – you might have guessed it – all about upcoming trends straight from the runways of this world. I know, I know. Trends are a tricky thing in fashion. Personally, I am always split in between „Oh I LOVE fashion, give me more!“ and „But oh, I HATE to be a fashion victim!“. It’s like an devil whispering on the left, and an angel on the right (maybe you know that feeling….).

In weak moments, I used to give in to the devil’s voice and buy trendy things on a whim. Most oft these items can still be identified in my wardrobe very easily: They lie somewhere in the back. And still have the original tags on them. I hate you little fashion devil.

Undoubtedly, fashion trends are fun, but they are not for everyone (your little fashion devil knows that, too!).

Each trend can look super flattering, or super disastrous on an individual person. You have to be knowledgable about them. And assuming you find something trendy that is just perfect for you, wouldn’t it be great to wear it in more than just one style?

Lucky you! This is exactly why I created this. So let’s get started, ladies… here is my advice on How To Wear Acai Purple, a trend colour for this autmn / winter season!

Spotted: Beach Cover Ups In The City Of Zurich

Hi everyone!

I hope that you are all enjoying this sunny August. Well, if you ask me, there is no way to let a summer season pass by without swimming in the ocean or a lake. Lucky enough, I have a big beautiful lake in front my door in Zurich (ok, not literally in front of my door). I love to lie there and watch the people go by. You have to know that if there is one thing you can do extremely well by the Zurich lake, then it is to WATCH PEOPLE (I’m such a stalker, haha)!

Last time, I noticed that a lot of ladies actually wear pretty beach cover-ups when they go to get something from the kiosk. These beach cover ups are all about looking chic by the water, and they come in all varieties (dresses, tunics, rompers etc), colors and fabrics.

If you happen to live in a city by a lake or in a seaside town you’ll know that it can be really crucial sometimes to switch from a beach to a presentable look quickly. And even if you live more inlands, I’m sure you own some sort of beach cover up that lies in your closet waiting to be re-used and you’ll keep saying to yourself “I’ll wear this on my next vacation” (and then decide to pack something else instead).

As some of you have seen on my Facebook page, I was helping my friend Carolina Caruso in styling her fashion shoot (check out her blog for the full sneak peek!). The clothes and accessories were kindly provided by FinforWorld, a new fashion initiative aiming to support emerging designers around the globe.

One of the looks was a classic nautical look that you could wear to any day or night time event by the water: A crisp white top, statement pants with anchor print, silver wedges and a clutch (in snake print, just to say you are actually a city girl!).

While the look was just perfect for the shooting location, I was wondering what else you could do with those anchor print pants in every day life, assuming that most of us do not own a boat and are not members of a yacht club… unfortunately.

Here you can find my style advice on How To Wear Nautical Print.

Spotted: Mint Jeans In Istanbul

Alright, admittedly what you see in the picture above is not exactly a pair of mint jeans (it is actually another example of some stylish pajama pants), but I still like the fresh pastel hues of the outfit all together, so I decided to share it.

The color mint has been one of the key trends this spring/summer season. It is the pastel version of green and turquoise, hence a softer and lighter shade, just perfect for sunny days! It can look pretty and chic, cool and fresh. Fashion in this color can now be found everywhere. Clothing, accessories, eye shadows, nail polish, you name it…

It’s easy to get obsessed with mint, but beware! Mint green can also look disastrous if worn in a worn way or on a person with the wrong coloring. So before you treat yourself to some minty pieces, take my advice on How To Wear Mint Jeans.
